  2009-Value of Sports Essay Contest

 

 

The Values Institute invites young people ages 10-13, who participate in some type of organized sports activity, to submit an essay on the Values of Sports.

All entries must be postmarked by 5pm on Friday, Sept. 4, 2009.

About the Essay

  • Youth must be age 10-13 and participate in some type of organized sports activity.

  • Essay must be 500 words or less and talk about how a selected value has influenced the youth's participation in his or her  favorite sport.

  • Signed entry form must be turned in with submission.

  • The student’s name must be included on the back of each entry.

    Prizes
    First, Second and Third place winners will be recognized and honored
    at our Fall Event by Bobby Ross on October 7, 2009 at the Jepson
    Alumni Center at the University of Richmond. The following
    prizes will be awarded:
    1st Place---$500 Savings Bond
    2nd Place—$250 Savings Bond
    3rd Place--$100 Savings Bond
    5 Honorable Mentions—$50 Savings Bond
